Our fleet of red, cream and black buses will change into a bright, colourful new teal and aqua livery over the coming months and years. The change follows on from the popular ‘Live & Breathe’ liveries and introduces new icons in a variety of colours to represent the diversity and vibrancy of the city of Brighton & Hove.

Furthermore, the logo will also be changing by adopting the new bus colours, and better representing the company with a slick A to B journey line worked into the design. This is just one part of a wider transformation as the company set their efforts on bringing more benefits to the community, and making Brighton & Hove Buses an employer of choice and great place to work for all.

The first of the new buses, designed to better reflect the Brighton & Hove geography with the colours of the sky and the sea, are likely to arrive in autumn and will continue to be rolled out gradually over the next few years.

Must admit i had a feeling something like this was coming. They seem to have liked these colour combinations for recent new orders. I assume with the multi coloured lines there will probably still be some aspect of ‘metro’ branding.

Certainly different to anything before! And the marine type colours do bode well with the area.

It also appears to be another move away from Best Impressions? It doesn’t look like one of their designs.

I agree their old brand was quite stale and doesn't suit anything I've seen painted in it so bar the move from traditional colours I don't see much to complain about.

I do quite like the fact they are like "it's time for a refresh and um... seaside?" rather than some contrived story about some paint reflecting their passion for customer service combined with the optimism of early spring time on Jupiter's 34th moon or some such nonsense that we usually hear in these moments.

It slightly reminds me of Trent's multicoloured smiley blobs, though I'd agree it doesn't look like Best Impressions though is slightly similar.
Two tones of the same colour split by either a straight line or a curved line is classic Best Impressions though

Tne new livery looks smart enough, but my first thought when I saw it was "Arriva". I think a new style using the old colours would have been better, but these matters are subjective.

Hopefully they’ll have a supply of spare heads so as and when lower deck windows are damaged and replaced they don’t leave the rainbow people decapitated!

It’ll be interesting to see if/how they integrate route branding. I always liked the way the colour was blended into the red and cream livery’s swoop, with the cream being a good base colour for the details above the driver/entrance door on the sides. It was a perfect mix of easily identifiable but also maintaining a unified network/company look.

Colour wise my first thought was First’s Adventures by Bus. I think I’d like to have seen the red/cream retained and reworked, but maybe I’m just stuck in the past!

It wasn't until I read about this rebrand that I noticed just how dated the current red/cream livery looks these days.

I quite like the look of the new livery. It needed updating.

I wonder if they will extend it to Metrobus - not too different to existing livery?
