Bridgend Station - 24th/25th Sept diversions?

Engineering works between Cardiff and Bridgend on Sat/Sun - a question - if the services will be sent down the Vale of Glamorgan line then eastbound trains will cross the Maesteg points just outside BGN station to come in on the down platform to allow access to the V.o.G. line yes? So both up/down services will share the same platform? Just wondering if the footbridge will still allow access to the other side seeing as not in use (like for filming etc) and there is a snack bar that side too. Does that open in these circumstances? I'm just guessing that they use the one platform because when a coal working passes here from Onllwyn to Aberthaw it uses the down platform (wrong side as per normal)

Cant answer for the Cafe/Footbridge but yes, We can only access the VoG from the Down side.

Everything will be going off platform 1 (down)

I would imagine the Cafe should be open, the footbridge will definitely be open as the station toilets are on Platform 2 (the UP side).

Because of some station competition, Bridgend station is polished and shining like a new pin at the moment, new signs, floors, teams of cleaners hard at work, obviously no-one has ever told them you can't polish a turd .

Indeed, no services at platform 1. A good few were using the footbridge for the cafe though, plus platform 3 was in use for the Maesteg shuttle.

I was wondering what they were going to do with maesteg, I thought it might be a bus.

i know someone on another forum which has since been closed got a very good night shot of an ATW class 158 sitting in Platform 3 at Bridgend
