Breaking Journey on Outward Leg

Hi all - looking for some help as finding conflicting info.

My intended journey is Stourbridge Junction -> Rugby outward on 22/3 (around 9:30 dep) return 24/3 (around 10:00 dep).

I intend to stop at Birmingham International (for the NEC for about 6 hours) on the way. There are advance tickets available however seem to incorporate the non-advance part up to Rowley Regis then advance Rowley - Rugby. This is obviously no good.

What ticket should I get in order to do this journey? Will an off-peak suffice? Aware some tickets don't allow BoJ on the outward journey which is exactly what I intend to do.

So long as you start after 0859, an Offpeak Return is fine. There is no BoJ restriction - there rarely is with Offpeak tickets.

Using TrainSplit, I can force a change of trains at Birmingham International with 360 minutes of extra time.

Its recommendation only saves around £2, so I would recommend just getting the Off-peak Return (not day return, of course!) for £22.60 for maximum flexibility on any train operator.

It doesn't have any break of journey restrictions.
