Let's say I'm travelling from station A to station C with TPE. I have an off-peak open return ticket and will return on the same day. However, I'll be bringing my bike and plan to cycle from station C to station B (which the same train passes through and stops at) and get the train back to station A from there.

If I made a cycle reservation on the TPE website (not made at the time of booking), would I need to make two separate reservations (one for A to C, and another for B to A) or just a reservation for the booked return journey (A to C, C to A).

Thanks.

You can make a single reservation. In fact doing so will probably cause less confusion than splitting your cycle reservation.

If you make a reservation from C to A, there is a risk that if you don't board at C, you will be assumed a no show and someone else might take the cycle space.

To avoid confusion, I would make reservations that indicate exactly what you intend to do.

So two reservations.
