Yesterday i used a appbased ticket with a qr code for a off peak day return with a railcard from Swindon to Gloucester ,when checking the details on my phone it stated that NO BREAK OF JOURNEY IS ALLOWED IN EITHER DIRECTION is this a new policy as in the past i have often broke journeys to and in particluar the return leg of day returns ,example Newport when returning fron Cardiff

No, it's GWR's rubbish app. If you buy from any other (non-FirstGroup) seller it should be correct.

It's gwr's app that is wrong. The TPE app has the same issue. I've actually raised this with them a couple of times and not received a reply.
