Can Anyone explain what the difference is between a brass pension and a private pension isa.
i understand Brass to be tax free so taken out your wages before tax ?
My question is, any Private isa pension gets a government tax top up when you deposit into it, so im trying to understand the difference or advantage of Brass compared to a standard private pension....
my assumption is you get no top up on Brass as it's tax free, however in a private pension you do because it wouldn't be tax free so you get that back....
if anyone can explain the advantage of a Brass pension over a typical private pension or maybe im missing something.
Main reason, i have a Private pension isa i pay into and invest in various things, this is topped up each month by the government, i want to know if its more beneficial to be in a Brass pension and why, it doesn't seem to me its any different to a normal private pension other than the tax free saving comes out your wages, rather than being reimbursed when you deposit.
