Bradford to Blackpool, 25th April

Because the route is priced by Northern I'm guessing there are no Advance fares on the route so I'm wondering if I can split it to save a bit on the £25.40 Anytime return?

Want to travel around 11am on the Saturday 25th April and come back a similar time the day after, no railcards and I don't mind which of the two main stations in Blackpool or Bradford I use.

I agree that the route via: Burnley fares (which, for anyone not familiar with the fares, is what you are referring to with your £25.40 ticket) are priced by Northern.

I don't understand the logic into thinking that means Northern don't offer Advance fares for this flow?

However for this particular flow, you are right that there are indeed no Advance fares priced by Northern.

If you are happy to use the much longer route via Manchester, you can get an Advance ticket, priced start at £8.20 each way.

As for whether it is cheaper to split, you may be interested to learn that members of this forum have created a booking engine which identifies, and will sell, "split tickets". The website is at trainsplit.com. This has also been featured in the media recently.

However in this case, the website does not offer any splits, so it is highly unlikely to be cheaper to "split" - at least not for travel via Burnley.

If it was just me I would be happy to save a few quid by going via Manchester but there are six of us going for a a night out, don't think try would appreciate changes and a longer journey!

Ah, in that case you're best sticking to the direct trains.

Splitting isn't always cheaper (unless you're using XC! )
