Just wondering whether a Class 56 has ever worn a (non-authentic) BR two-tone green livery - or more likely, whether anyone has mocked up an image of one? I imagine it'd look pretty good, I can't be the first one to think of it surely?

Well, other locos also wore two-tone green, but in effect yes.

The Intercity and ScotRail Deltic looks amazing!

I remember seeing a Hoover fictitious livery's in ScotRail and Intercity.

The Western in RF is very good too!

Are you sure you don't need to go and have a wee lie down? ;) As much as I liked the Intercity and Scotrail liveries, seeing them on Deltic makes me feel slightly queasy. As for NSE on a Warship...

The 56 in BR green looks acceptable enough, probably because of the similarities with the 47.

It's not that good

Come to think of it, Deltics and Hoover's are the only other locos that could have done the MK3 Push-Pull service if tthe 47/7s hadn't been developed. I wonder how reliable they would have been though, Deltics may have been a better choice.

Strangely enough, by the late 80's the grey livery on some 56's had faded to a point where in some lights they did look green. Presumably it was the original blue showing through as the later grey wore off.
