Bowes Railway victim of arson attack

Just noticed this news story on the BBC News website:-

Six antique train carriages have been destroyed in a suspected arson attack on Tyneside, police have said.

The fire broke out in a fenced area within the Bowes Railway Museum in Springwell, Gateshead.

Six coal-carrying train carriages, which are worth thousands of pounds, were destroyed along with a nearby wooden embankment.

Police said they were treating the fire as arson and appealed for any witnesses in the area on Thursday morning.

*sighs* at the GCRN, in 2007 we had the following...
6 buses (including some which there were no others left) torched and destroyed
countless windows broken
the oldest surviving mk1 coach: every window smashed (including interior compartment ones) upholstery ripped off, wood thrown into it.

It's a shame but hardly surprising, the village is ok but the nearby estate is a bit of a dump...
