Speed needs increasing by at least 30% and number of errors/omissions needs reducing to about 2 before you want to sit the real thing. Keep practicing and you'll get there

Do the SCAAT test results need to be in the same ballpark as the GBT or is there a leeway? I can get good, consistent results with GBT in line with what's been suggested on other threads, but struggle to get below 5 omissions on the SCAAT with good consistency. Any difference in their pass marks?

Have you applied for a job that says they are using the SCAAT test?

It may be best to not waste your time with it, as most of the time, it isnt required. Only a few companies use it as an extra test.

No. So far I've applied for the FTPE and EMT positions. As I know zero about their testing procedures first hand - only what extensive trawling here has provided, I figured I'd be best to familiarise myself with both SCAAT and GBT. As my old Dad always says: "Preparation and Planning Prevents P##s Poor Performance". LB

Fair enough but in answer to your previously posted question, it is unknown if SCAAT performance needs to be as good as Group Boredom. As SCAAT is not an industry-standard test, but an extra "add on" test set by few TOC's, they can set the pass mark how they please. One thing about SCAAT is that failure will not count towards your 2 maximum fails.

What reaction times are we looking for on the Reaction test, that i down loaded on the same page as the Group Bourdon Test page?

A reaction time of 750ms or lower should be more than enough to see you through the Reactions Test with a Grade A

I asked you this before Bev, can you enlighten us on the pass level and provide evidence for the GB test?

I have seen people pass with 9 lines on eacch page with a good pass, no ommisions or errors and seen people fail with 11 with ommisions and errors. Once again it is CONSISTANCY and ACCURACY they are looking for with the GB and nor inaccurate speed!

I passed the GBT with a good pass and was doing about 1000 cells with a couple of ommisions, so aim for something like that. I sat the test and it was on paper rather than computer and I found that quite a bit easier.

Dont know the pass mark but if you aim for 1300 with 2 mistakes and a consistancy thats not horrendous, that seems to be a safe bet that the standard is exceeded

Thats fair enough fella but is it possible to pass with 1000 with no mistakes with consistancy throughout? If so by trying for 1300 you may cause yourself unforced errors and non consistancy on the day. I have seen passes with under half a page done cosistantly over 5 pages, no errors, no mistakes & a pass with a good grade, I wouldn't know the amount completed on half a page I suppose it depends on how many lines on a page?
