Boundary zone ticketing

Does the Railforums ticketing site pay attention to “I already have an Over 60 Oyster” when searching ticket prices, please? I’ve ticked the correct box under Advanced but that doesn’t seem to make any difference to ticket price (from London Waterloo to Southampton Central). SW Trains offers a link to Avanti West Coast (they have the same parents) which does offer Boundary tickets but NOT Advance fares. Ditto CTC, which is advised in this forum. Can anyone help, please?

It’s not clear what you’re asking here but Boundary Zone tickets are not available with Advance tickets.

I buy Boundary Zone 6 tickets quite frequently (I also have 60+ oyster). Easiest way to see what Boundary Zone 6 tickets are available to your destination is to use https://www.brfares.com/!home and put Origin as "Boundary Zone 6". As another poster has pointed out, there is no such thing as a Boundary Zone Advance ticket. Not all ticket types seem to have a Boundary Zone 6 variant.

The railforums ticket site will definitely sell a Boundary Zone ticket if it is the cheapest option - have done it a few times. However, what it often does is find a cheaper set of tickets than the Boundary Zone 6 ticket, which may be advances or a split. For example, with your journey:

the cheapest journey right at the moment is currently showing as a split of tickets which includes Advances which beats the Boundary Zone 6 ticket in price. However, if you click on the £34.10 fare you will see it offers the Super off-peak return from Boundary Zone 6 to Southampton Central. So, certainly in the examples I've looked at, the railforums ticket site is behaving correctly and attempting to get you the best price.

Thanks very much. I didn’t realise that Boundary Zone and Advance were mutually exclusive. That explains a lot!
