Hello, I'm looking to travel from Blackhorse Road to Reading on a Saturday. On the way I need to break my journey at Surbiton and Bracknell and then possibly break at Maidenhead on the return (or just whizz back to Paddington). I already have a ticket that covers zones 1 to 6, plus a railcard.

Would an off peak day return via Slough at £8.05 cover this (as this is more expensive than the £7.75 super off peak day return via Ascot so may also be valid that way) or would I need to get the off peak day return via Ascot at £9.10 as the other two are different ticket types?

I guess I could also look at some sort of change of route excess but I'm not sure I need the hassle unless it would save a lot. I think BZ6 to Earley/Winnersh Triangle is £7.95 out via Ascot, return via Slough.

Cheers

Can I just query something about this...? Whenever I have used a BZ6 to Reading it has stated on it "via Slough" even when not bought at Paddington but at somewhere like Epsom.

So a BZ6 return might not be valid on both routes?

Does the advised BZ6 to Theale get round this issue?

It can be excessed to route via: Ascot (where the excess is zero it may be simply accepted)
