I see that Saltburn Railtours are running two charters, morning and afternoon, from Middlesbrough to Boulby on the 28th Sept.

Details are at https://saltburnrailtours.co.uk/boulby-mine/ if anyone here is interested.
Nice one, I hadn't known about that. Takes me back nearly 30 years, when I visited the Saltburn festival. It was my first ever sighting of a 66, on the Boulby potash working.

I’m not normally one for charters but this is very tempting, I’ve always wanted to do the line to Boulby.

I'll ring the number (in post #1 link) this week and I'll add my findings here
I'll save you the bother. In the latest BLN, it has "Standard Class £48 per person; 1st Class (includes a breakfast roll with a hot drink and Buck's Fizz in the morning or a Cream Tea with Prosecco and a hot drink in the afternoon) £78." Would recommend joining BLS for the gen provided in Branch Line News if nothing else.

Many thanks. I still need to convince my wife why we should put our dog in kennels and drive all the way from Hampshire!

The first 35 minutes of this Drivers Eye run, cover the Boulby branch (starting at Boulby) and give a good flavour of the line threading its way around the topography.

Thanks, looks like I might have missed the chance to travel on it but may get down for a photo if time allows. Would have loved to hear a couple of 37’s battling their way up

Saltburn use WCRC traction for their tours so a couple of their 37s may sound good but won't be much use for heating the train, unless a 47/57 is on the rear for ETS.

I wonder if it will top and tail, rather than run round at Boulby mine reception lines.

Quite possibly yes. Saves faffing around with a run-round.

Having spoken to the organiser; it's definitely Top-n-Tailed, since the train will have to change-ends at Saltburn West Junction to get from Saltburn (station) to the Boulby branch.
