Hi all,
For the amount of train travel I do, I can't believe I've done this. Complacency maybe.
I'm going to Stansted tomorrow from Doncaster for a flight.
I'm travelling back from Stansted to Doncaster a week on Monday (24th June).
I booked the Stansted to Peterborough section fine, and am picking those tickets up tomorrow.
However, back in January/February when I book the tickets, I failed to notice that I'd booked Peterborough to Doncaster for 24th April.
Having just realised today, and with me travelling tomorrow to the airport (on valid tickets), is there a lot I can do?
My main hope is that I can go to the ticket office at Doncaster tomorrow (where I will be picking all 4 tickets up for both legs) and explain what a fool I am, and flutter my eyelashes at the ladies and hope they can somehow transfer my ticket or put a special notice on it.
The more realistic outcome is that they'll say no, and I'll have to buy a new ticket.
Thankfully, there are still Advances (with 16-25) available for 24th June for £11ish, which is ironically less than I paid for the April ticket!
Is there any way around this that won't involve me parting with cash, even if it is mercifully 'only' £11 if I have to buy a new ticket?
