According to the front page of today's Manchester Evening News the Conservatives are to get complimentary Metrolink and bus travel in Manchester during the party conference.

I personally think they should get a free complimentary rail shuttle operated by a Merseytravel 142 - minimum loading before departure would be 150 passengers.

As someone pointed out under the MEN story (which was in the Salford Star first), most of the conference attendees will be in two hotels close to Manchester Central so they're unlikely to have much need for the city's public transport.

Will probably be a half dozen public appearances by cabinet members locally during the conference to try and get some local press coverage, though im sure senior ones will be using cars anyway.

Agree 100%. Obviously as VIP‘s they should get fancy antimacassars.

Antimacassars on a Pacer - the mind boggles! What's the expression I'm looking for ...about being unable to polish something? :D

They'll all be staying at The Midland across the road, surely? (The Tories I mean, not the Pacers!) Any further from the conference venue than that and Boris is likely to get lost!
