Borderlands line class 230's.

Hello all, I'm new on here and this being my first post, so hi to everybody

I have experience driving District line D stock trains before their withdrawal as I am employed by TFL.

I was wondering if there was any way of telling what timetabled services services on the Borderlands line are served by 230's, as according to Wikipedia, there are several different stocks serving the route.

I'd like to take a trip up there to experience a trip on one but don't want to get there and not see one!

Scroll down the right hand side, look for a service that is 3 car.

Alternatively you can type an individual unit number in the search box on the top right (230006-230010) and the search will return exactly which service the unit is currently working.

I hate to say it but no class 230s are running today, only 2 car class 197s.

I visited the Liverpool area last week and had trips on 230007, 230008 and 230010. 230009 briefly ran out of Birkenhead North shed where I believe all of these units are kept when not in use. There was no sign of the other one, 230006.

I have to say I enjoyed my trips on the route and those I was on ran faultlessly.

The allocations are set in the morning so check early on the date you intend to travel, obviously with the correct date in the appropriate box.

Yes great trains, aluminium bodies that are still in good condition.

You might also want to visit the Island Line on the Isle of Wight as those are guaranteed to be the former D-stock, now Class 484s, unless services are cancelled.

Remember too the GWR battery powered one (230001) which has today arrived at Reading depot in preparation for trial running on the Greenford branch.

From recent videos on YouTube, shot when it was being tested on the Cotswold line, it still sounds much like a D stock train, contrasting oddly with the pictures showing it on a rural non-electrified route.
