Can anyone tell me whether this box is still operational, and if so, what is the intended closure date?

The box is still currently operational. The intended closure date is 2020 onwards; though as in other areas that date is subject to change.

Thanks High Dyke. I could have had a very long, and disappointing journey, if it was closed/demolished.
