(From southerns website) A person has been hit by a train at Burgess Hill is causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains between Brighton / Hove and Haywards Heath.

Thoughts with all involved, does anyone know which service was involved and how serious the disruption is?

Two services (1A44/5U25) are in the immediate vicinity, with 2 others stranded. The power isolation has taken out all routes from Haywards Heath to Brighton, Hove & Lewes via Keymer Junction. Trains are now queuing back to Croydon. Lines via Horsham are open, with some diversions occurring, but trains on this route will be very busy. Replacement buses should run between Haywards Heath & Brighton by roughly 2015hrs, but again, these will probably be extremely busy. Of course, aside from the disruption, this involves another bunch of railway staff (and maybe passengers) seeing something horrendous, as well as someone most probably having died, and my sympathies are with those involved.

All lines have now been reopened via Burgess Hill, with the closure having lasted for about 79mins. I have not had it confirmed to me that the incident was fatal.

KSS Air Ambulance was also called to assist. Thoughts to those involved.

Unsure of the service involved, but it is one of those mentioned by TSR.

It seems the person involved left site alive in the care of the ambulance service. I hope he/she recovers.
