Filed due to blood pressure. Not sure if anyone else has ever.

I’m not sure, what they would class as unacceptable levels.

What blood pressure are they looking for?

Anything over 140/90 is classed as high, so I guess anything over that would be questioned? I’d imagine it’s probably relative to be honest, much like other aspects of the medical, and sometimes a note from a GP or some medication is all it takes to pass in the end. @DD87 was probably told in detail what was the requirement etc I imagine.

Last reading with the railway doctor was 144/98 with medication.
Also got a irregular heart beat and still can’t make it to “Other Duties”

I agree re the BMI. It’s accurate as long as it’s measuring fat as opposed to muscle. Im under now illusion however that my measurement of 32.7 is fat.

Had my medical today.

Was told afterwards that the doc was happy that I was fit for the role of train driver, just waiting on the drugs test which should be a formality as I’ve never touched anything.

But one very happy Chappie tonight.

Then hopefully onto an offer and a start date.

I’m guessing back ground checks are police related etc so hoping I’ve done enough to satisfy the requirements now.

That should be it. Referencing and background checks if they haven’t already done them? Not sure how WMT operate, but the background checks will usually be nothing more than a basic disclosure. You’ll be okay as long as you don’t make it known about the bodies under the patio

Your elated when you get through an assessment, an interview or a medical. Then it dawns on you, your now in for more waiting and more hoops to jump through.

By getting a medical and the doctor signing me as fit for the role I would be telling others to sit tight, it’ll happen soon, not so easy when it’s yourself and now I’ve got a bank holiday to contend with. Hahaha

I know how you feel. My medical was just before the Easter weekend so a bank holiday and a half haha. I only told people I’d got offered a job officially when I had a contract in my hand, just in case (I’m superstitious like that). Now I just want my joining instructions. It’s definitely happening so it’s not like I need to be frustrated, but I’m inpatient

A conditional offer is as good as an offer as long as the D&A comes back okay (for GWR at least), but it’s all the doom and gloom in the offer saying if you fail to meet any of the conditions they’ll withdraw their offer. GWR’s forms offer letter also had conditions such as passing the medical and psychometric assessments listed in it, which again got me overthinking but in the end I put it down to an old letter template

I’d imagine having a medical is as good as having a conditional offer.
