Noticed that the Bluestar 1 (Southampton to Winchester) appears to have one or two short journeys from Southampton to Chandlers Ford Asda. There definitely seems to be one leaving Southampton at 0845 running almost always within a minute of the regular through Winchester service at this time, and on one occasion when I had to be in town very early, I think I remember seeing one at 0730 too.
These are run not using the regular 1 vehicles, but by (normally) older double deckers and (occasionally) Mercedes single deckers. They don't seem to be showing in the timetable.
Any ideas what these are? Are they Barton Peveril and/or Eastleigh College services which are in public service as far as Asda? Looking at the people on the bus they don't seem to be obviously college students but guessing this is the most likely explanation.
Not sure if they run through from somewhere else (e.g Hythe as a 9?) to provide a through service to the colleges?
