Blue Lights on Overheads

I was driving a passenger train last night when I passed an engineering possession between Harpenden and Leagrave. On the approach to Luton Airport Parkway there were blue flashing lights attached to the OLE. I have never seen these before. Does anyone know what they are? Also Blue flashing lights are now appearing on stop boards in possessions. This seems to be a fairly new but regular occurrence now. Can anyone from an engineering background enlighten me about these.

They've been around a few years, I think.

Regarding blue lights in the four-foot:

For the duration of the East West Rail Alliance Project (Bletchley), blue lamps (see picture) will be used to identify the limits of the electrical isolations within the
Engineering Supervisor’s worksite during the hours of daylight and darkness.

Should engineering trains or OTP / OTM’s require to pass over them and they can do
so without either knocking them over or damaging them, they can do so provided that they have the Engineering Supervisor’s authority for the move to take place.

Could be that Carillion imparted that knowledge onto NR, who've adopted it since then.

I’m intrigued, Has anyone got a picture of these blue lights? I’ve been on track a lot in the last 10 years and I’ve never been told about these.
