Hi there everyone Am Mo,

Am struggling to find a job whilst completing Level 2 Diploma in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance which I have completed along with other tickets I have which are :
• Personal Track Safety (PTS)
• TIC
• Manual Handling
• Health & Safety
• Fire Awareness
• Level 3 First Aid
• Hand Tools
• Rail Saw
• Rail Drill
• Petrol Generator
• Hilti110v
• Cobra TT
• Impact Wrench & Auger Attachment
• Banksman and Cat Scan.

I am really finding it hard to find a job??

Is there anyone in here who knows employers who take on blue hats or if there are jobs going where I could apply? As I really am struggling and I have been told drug&alchol test runs out in April which you can see on my Senital card And once that runs out I will find it hard for work as I need a sponsor? Can someone please enlighten me with some info/advice I really am giving up!!! I have joint cv-Library and railway people but getting nowhere

They're based in Manchester but have works throughout the UK.

Railway-people is good but you've got to keep it updated - many companies only look for CVs that have been uploaded in the last week or so. Any older than that and they assume you're not looking any more.

Even if you just re-upload the same CV or change a couple of letters or add a space to the description, it doesn't matter, as it will change the 'last updated' date, so you'll re-appear on the lists of active accounts and may get more interest. (I'm on railway-people as well!).


Also, be careful with acronyms. I note you list 'TIC' in your list. What does this mean? It wont mean 'Tester In Charge' which is a very senior signalling position, so you need to be careful about people who may find certain keywords like that and then dismiss you when it's not what they expected.
Just being honest - the recruitment world can be brutal sometimes!
