Blue Arrow Leeds take on temp Train Platform Co-Ordinators

Ladies and Gentleman, Just registered with Blue Arrow in Leeds and applied for temp Train Platform Co-Ordinator based at Leeds train station. All temp posts will be working with Northern, which is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door of the railway industry and gain experience.
Registered today and hope to start this weekend. This will be my second temp position working alongside Northern, some of you will remember me last year working as a temp Train Presentation Operative with Northern at Leeds station during Tour de France.
Excited is the word right now in my mind and a big shout out to all Northern staff, looking forward to working with you guys once again x

What does the train platform co ordinator roll involve exactly? Another back handed move by Northern to weaken the despatcher grade?

Fair play to you for applying though, if the jpb is being advertised no reason not to apply I guess.

Unless it's for a particular event or weekend bus replacement duties ,it seems rather odd this type of platform operative roll would be recruited as a temporary agency post rather than a permanent TOC employee or contractor

The role will involve assisting customers outside the station and helping with bus replacement duties and I assume there will be lots of other tasks to do. We may be asked to help out at other stations too.
I will be just working Sundays for the time being alongside my full time role as a Pest Control Technician.
I would have been quite happy to do the Train Platform Co Ordinator role for free, because I see this opportunity as work experience and something to go on my CV.
Its very rare opportunities like this come up, so when I saw it I grabbed it with both hands.

So, some of the time you'll be dealing with irritating little specimens who plague society, seem to breed indiscriminately, have modest intelligence and need to be tightly controlled or potentially eliminated.

But during the week, you'll be rat catching.
