Hi all, I've been asked for ticketing advice by two friends and wanted to see what the forum's suggestions were.
They need to travel from Bletchley to University (Birmingham) tomorrow morning, arriving before 0930.
They'll then be going to Coventry at about 4-6 o'clock, staying the night and then continuing back to Bletchley at about the same time the following day (1600-1800).
They do have a Two Together Railcard, and would probably also depart from Milton Keynes Central, although they'd need to depart from and arrive at the same station.
I see that tomorrow, Avanti will be accepting WMT tickets.
This would mean they could get 2x Anytime Return WMT only, @£48.50 undiscounted each and still travel:
dep BLY 0739 LNR,
dep MKC 0752 Avanti
arr UNI 0922
AIUI this would then be valid to go to Coventry later in the day and break the journey overnight, and continue on WMT services on Saturday.
Are there any advances on £97 that anyone can come up with?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Just spotted that the Off Peak Return BLY-UNI via Rugby, restriction 9I, the morning peak restriction from MKC does not apply on Fridays.
This relaxation however does not apply to the equivalent WMT only fare.
This is £41.30 each, £82.60 total
