I guess it depends how wide they've made the alignment.. It's hard to tell at the moment. Hopefully it'll be wide enough for at least one extra track.

It looks as though there's enough room on the ground-level sections, it's just a question of how much land-take there would be, since it would have to swing away at a certain point and reach the main line before the Arlesey Road bridge. I went right past it twice today (well, yestreday now), but the angle's all wrong to see properly. I'll have to head up to Cadwell for a proper look.

Surely the best option for reinstating the central option it to go from Bedford straight onto the Hitchin flyover and avoid running down ether the MML or ECML and eating into the capacity on those routes. How much of the former Bedford-Hitchin line is still intact?
