blackpool-york 22/5 onwards

From 22/5 onwards nationail rails website is showing me their are no direct trains between blackpool and York until 15:11 and wants me to change in Manchester if I travel before this time. And going the reverse trip York to blackpool their is a 6:20 and a 7:19 then nothing till 14:27. Is this likely to be an error? The via Manchester route adds quite a bit to the cost and takes longer

The xx:11 departures from Blackpool to York are all showing on NRE now.

Splitting York-Hebden Br-Blackpool is 6.00 + 6.50 = 12.50
You avoid travelling on packed 185s going that way and it's a nicer route too.

The Hebden Bridge route is usually quicker and cheaper.

Looking at NRE for direct trains tomorrow from noon onwards through the afternoon journey times range from 2h48m to 2h57m (the latter being the services that leave earlier to stop at Church Fenton). Journey times via Huddersfield are usually in the range 3h07 to 3h15, although there are a couple of examples that dip just below 3hrs.

Advance fares via Hebden at £13 to £15 are available until the 15.18, when the fare rises to the Anytime fare of £30.30. Fares for all the Manchester services are £46.20 Anytime. As D6975 says split fares may be cheaper.

If you want to check the Northern Advance Fares for this journey, you need to specify the direct option in journey planners. Otherwise the Church Fenton stoppers don't show. Since they stop there for 10 minutes to be overtaken by a fast train or two, journey planners suggest the fast service with a change at Leeds, priced of course at the Anytime fare.
