Although Victoria is slightly easier for me (and quicker journey time) a friend told me about a good fare from Blackfriars using FCC only.

It is a Super Off peak Day return, valid only on Saturdays Sundays and BH's only.

It costs £5 per adult and £1 per child, per return ticket, with groupsave.

I have typed in the journey details in the FCC online ticket purchasing thing and it shows the fare for all passengers (4 adults 1 kiddy) as £21 but the box is greyed out and says "Groupsave not available for any of the services below" when trying to click that ticket option.

We are desperate to get the journey on Saturday 24th August, my friends Kiddy is really looking forward to it now... be such a shame if we was rejected travel cos of this problem :(

My friend found the deal here

It appears to be available after 0930 only, but the restriction code FB says it should be at any time.

If you want to go from Victoria , you could use a Southern Day Saver , this would make it £29.00 for your party

Prices:

DaySave Ticket £14 £28 £1
DaySave Peak Ticket £35 N/A N/A
DaySave Flexi Ticket £120 N/A N/A
DaySave Weekly Ticket £87 N/A N/A

TTL-engines will correctly let you book this fare for journeys before 0930. Looks like it has been poorly implemented with WebTIS.

Book at www.swtrains.co.uk. Make sure that you specify in the Railcards list "Groupsave 4".

Southern and East Coast websites (which use the same software as FCC) have the same problem, but Cross Country and Virgin Trains sites (which do not) will sell it for travel before 0930.
