Several months ago I was on the down escalator from Platform 2 north side when it stopped violently - it's amazing nobody fell. Since then it has only periodically been in service, and for the last week or two it's been either cordoned off or serving as the up escalator. Does anyone know what the problem is and why it isn't being fixed?
