Blackberry services question

I've just given my old Blackberry Curve to my girlfriends sister and she hasn't got Blackberry services on her contract, so can she receive BBM or more importantly PIN messages without the Blackberry services being active? What are limitations on a BB without the BB services subscription, ie can she download apps and such if I give her my BB login?

I can't say too much having only just got a blackberry curve myself, but I can use AppWorld on WiFi without any extra cost (I have a payg sim).

You ring orange (or whoever you're with) and ask them for the blackberry app world and you have to reset your phone a couple of times. Thats what I did and i get the facebook, interet, BBM and a few other thigs too.

BBM services will not work without the Blackberry add-on, call your network provider who will give you.the cost of the add-on.

I have found sometimes I can use BIS without having a specific BIS feature on some networks.

However, if she hasn't got BIS on her contract, it will most likely just be a case of phoning up Orange, removing her current internet add-on and replacing with a BIS one. Exactly what I did with Vodafone when I got fed of using my Samsung Galaxy on it...
