Birmingham to Peterborough

I was a bit disappointed with the times to Norwich and started investigating alternative routes. One of the most underdeveloped parts is the Birmingham to Peterborough section. In the 70s there where various plans to electrify it.
Have there been any recent plans to upgrade it?

Sure there has been talk to electrify this route as part of any upgrade between Felixstowe and Nuneaton, although there has been talk its not or I am sure its not part of the current program

If goes ahead which could be in 10 years time the section between Chippenham Jn and Cambridge will be electric as well

I though that expansion was for freight and didn't include electrification?

I think you are correct on the current program, however there are certain people wanting electrification, there is more detail online including a thread on here
