Birmingham to London Bridge Query

Birmingham New St to London Bridge // via London Midland to Euston //Off Peak Weekday [Young Persons]

Question
Right, I need to get down to London Bridge Rail Station on a weekday within the time restrictions of the Cheap Day Return at £15.20 on YP.

Can I buy a ticket straight to London Bridge even though this is the same price as to Euston (assuming this is due to the London Terminals pricing) or do I have to buy a TravelCard?

I know getting the Tube is the quickest but I don't mind going to Charing Cross then picking up a local to London Bridge by rail if this allows me to use a rail ticket to London Bridge [LBG].

Also please don't reply with just a quote from FRPP as any clown can do that and I got that response when I rang National Enquiries who didn't have a foggiest apart from what was in front of them.

A ticket from Birmingham to London Terminals is not valid to London Bridge. You would need either a ticket to Zone U1 (or U12) or a travelcard.

Perhaps I am missing something, but I can't see a ticket for £15.20 either, even with a railcard. There is a return for £15.85 to London Terminals (LM only) or £19.80 to zone U1/U12 (LM only). The travelcard would be £21.80 (LM only).

It depends what you want, really.

Least hassle would be the Birmingham Stations to Zone U1 London (London Midland Only at £19.80) as has been mentioned already.

Least expensive (but enabling you to travel as you wish - i.e. no unnecessary changes) would be to purchase two tickets:
Birmingham Stations to London Terminals (London Midland Only at £15.85)
South Hampstead to New Cross (+Any Permitted - travel on Tube between Euston and London Bridge permitted - at £3.70).

Depends how much you value the 25p really!

Afraid not*, due to how 'London Terminals' and 'London Bridge' as fares locations operate.

*If you are wanting the destination on the ticket to be 'London Bridge', that is. The Zone U1 London is effectively the same ticket but allows you to alight at any LU station in zone 1.

You could, if you wanted, buy a ticket from Birmingham to New Cross which will include the cross London availability (and permits you to finish your journey at London Bridge), but this is more expensive and gives you nothing (other than validity at New Cross) that the U1 doesn't!
