Hi,

I’m travelling from Birmingham to Lancaster return tomorrow . I will be literally getting off the train at Lancaster. Meeting someone at the station to collect something and then getting the next train home.
I can save a small amount splitting and using advances etc. however, with having very little time between my outbound service and my return. If there was a delay, or cancellation on my outbound journey would I be permitted to travel on another service on the return?

Thanks

As long as your return train from Lancaster is scheduled to be 6 minutes or more after your scheduled arrival from Birmingham - you don't say - then
  1. you can use the following service from Lancaster operated by the same company as on your booked ticket
  2. you can claim Delay Repay from whichever company delays you on the outbound journey causing you to miss your booked return train
Expect a Delay Repay claim to fail, initially, because any slightly unusual claims usually do, but if you persevere you should get a positive outcome eventually.

Brilliant thank you.

Yes it is more than 6 minutes so that is really helpful

Thanks!

In case it affects you - the lifts are out of use at Lancaster at the moment while building work is going on
