As rail services were wound down at Snow Hill station in the mid/late 1960's and main line passenger and freight traffic traffic was diverted away after March 4th March 1967, i am curious to know what the last known freight train was that travelled through Snow Hill and when.
Also did any diverted freight trains make an appearance between March 5th 1967 and before the tunnel to the south was closed on 3rd March 1968 to end the opportunity for through traffic.

Freight trains were going through Snow Hill in the 1990s, to reach the Handsworth scrap yard.

Hurst’s Register gives Moor St-Snow Hill as complete closure 4 March 1968 and Snow Hill-Handsworth as complete closure 6 March 1972. I though that traffic to Handsworth came via Smethwick Junction.

There was a time when it went via Snow Hill, I once saw one in to Handsworth from that direction!
