Birmingham-sittingbourne-ulverston

Hi, I am travelling on the 25th Feb from Birmingham to Sittingbourne and then the next day from Sittingbourne to Ulverston

I'm wanting to travel fastest possible route so avanti not via birmingham on the way back.
A return ulverston to Sittingbourne is £108 (26-30 railcard)
When I try to split at Warrington I have issues finding an off peak return. Is there a cheaper set of tickets than the £108? Also flexibility required with times so advances not really suitable.

The problem is that Offpeak Return fares from Ulverston do not allow break of journey (and therefore starting short at Birmingham). This is because they have much more generous restrictions than those foprom Preston and South.
An offpeak from Warrington is valid at 1017 from New St, and to return up to 1430 or at 1930/2030.

Worth trying a splitting website such as this forum's?

I don't know how likely anyone is to complain about you starting a journey in Birmingham with a ticket from Ulverston, but staff would be within their rights to charge an excess to the cost of an anytime return (which would be an extra £190.70 with a railcard).

Splitting tickets only appear to give the option of catching slower trains (with LNR or not HS1 tickets) to save a few pounds. I've sent you a suggestion on the assumption that you can work around off peak restriction.
