Recently a spate of muggings has occurred on the London Midland South Cross City Line (Birmingham New Street-Redditch).
One such case was of numerous muggings (rumoured the entire train) on a Redditch bound train at 10pm.
Another such case was of a lone teenage boy traveling at 3pm on a Birmingham bound train.
Many more have been rumoured, and possibly unreported, and it seems to be this stretch of Birmingham's Network in particular.
All the muggings seem to have been perpetrated by Hooded Youths (Aged 15-20) working alone, with Northfield and Longbridge stations being hot spots.
So i'd advise all people using the Birmingham-Longbridge-Redditch line to be extra vigilante, especially as it is the Summer Holidays and youths are extra bored.
Don't display your laptops, mobiles and wallets.
Sit close to other people on the train.
Keep your eye out for hooded youths, if they have their hood up, it means they need to hide their faces from CCTV, so this is a sure sign they may be about to commit a crime.
If you're under 18, Don't travel alone if possible, i know it shouldn't come to this but anything to help.
Possibly carry an old lightweight dummy phone to hand over if the worst should occur.
It's better to be safe than sorry, so don't put up a fight - you never know who carries a knife these days.
These steps should be taken on all Public Transport: Train, Metro and Bus. But on the South Cross City Line in particular.

Spread the word too to any users of the Birmingham Cross City Line
In some contexts this applies to the entire Rail Network in today's society, however this line is specifically a problem recently, and the message simply isn't being spread.
