I have been interested in what exactly the new HS2 station could look like.

Wikipedia Says:

A design sketch for the station has been submitted by Sir Terry Farrell, architect of Beijing South Railway Station.

Does anybody have this design sketch as Wikipedia have not provided it. :D

I do hope they plan to incorporate the remaining building into the new station (I'm sure this was mentioned somewhere before)!

Looking at the station plans in the DfT HS2 report, the original London and Birmingham station building doesn’t look as if it will be incorporated into the Curzon Street station, unless it is added in at a later point of development as a secondary entrance. I think it would be a huge shame if it wasn’t incorporated into the design in some way.

There’s a few sketch drawings of the proposed Curzon Street knocking around, although there’s been so many HS2 releases now it’s difficult to keep tracking them down. The Birmingham Big City plan has some graphics of the planned station in it, for a start.

They aren't. The old building is in completely the wrong place. IMHO they shouldn't be using Curzon St to describe the station at all, their own plans clearly show the entrance at the Moor St End, the only relevance of Curzon St is that it runs parallel to the station throat.

Some references use the name 'Fazely St', and this would be equally useless as a description.

The detailed drawing here shows the plan - it is quite clear that the disused building is irrelevant:

I see... Well, it would be nice if they could do something with the historic building, maybe incorporate it into a trackside development or use it as a signalling center...

If it also incorporates the functionality of Beijing South then it will be a fine station.

They certainly know how to build stations here, suppose it helps having a lot of land, but still.
