Binoculars Help

I am looking to invest in a small pair of Binoculars for trainspotting as when i am at Willesden Junction and the EWS yard i seem to miss a few loco`s in the distance , can anybody point me in the right direction

i use one of these very good clear view and with 20x magnification you can get numbers from a good distance

I personally wouldn't touch anything of this magnification without a tripod. Realistically imo 8 or 10x is always a good bet when viewing in ordinary daylight conditions. There are loads of fairly cheap models around £20 or so but as with a lot of things you can pay much higher if you want the quality. Common magnifications are 8 x 40 0r 10 x 50 in large binoculars but 8 x 21 or 10 x 25 in compact binos. This tripod looks good but as I said a tripod will be best needed if you want the higher magnifications.

hi master i have no trouble holding these steady but saying that as a bird watcher as well i am used to using these so others may find it hard to use
but unlike binoculars i can put them in my pocket
