YOU could return if things didn’t work out, as a rejoiner Police Officer, but that’s not the case for a lot of people (emergency services are generally easy enough to return to I appreciate). If you leave and your former job is recruited for, chances are you’d not be able to return, at least not particularly easily.

You can, but I’m led to believe it’s very unlikely and not the case in all areas of the railway. It may just be BTP who can transfer as they’re within the RPS?
I stand to be corrected but I would think a qualified doctor should be able to return to work should things not work out. I agree it’s not the case for everybody.

I was told at interview that Northern allow pensions to be transferred in but a maximum of £100k. I don’t know what mine stands it currently, still waiting to be informed. Obviously I’d wish to transfer it in but if I can’t I freeze it and start a new one with the railway.

Yes, you’re correct. I was more referring to “in general” as opposed to a Doctor, who obviously this thread refers to :D.
