I haven't been on this forum for a while so so I don't know if this has been done or not,but.........
Mallard is finally leaving York!
But it's not a steaming. So close and yet so far.......
However, the world famous engine will be towed to Shildon by non other than(Du-du-du-du-duuuuuuuuuu!) Tornado!
I can see them now, going through the east coast mainline, two legends together at last!
Also, it will be placed in close proximnity to the deltic prototype. Expect some tension......
Souther steam fans would also be happy to know that a south eastern and chatham railway engine will be filling the void at York.
