I Was planning a trip out cycling one evening this week up the Wirral Peninsula. To avoid the 400 foot climb back home to Hawarden from near sea level late in the evening (when some 'refreshments' may have been consumed!) I had planned on taking the train with my bike from Neston to Hawarden. I've done this in the past and it's usually quietish and bicycles are easily stowed on the train. However on checking the timetables on the East Coast Trains Website the last train of the day seems to have been replaced by a Bus at the later time of 23:30 - thereby scotching my plan as I'm pretty sure they won't allow my bike on the bus.

I've checked the Borderlands Line website and they still show a normal train service departing at the usual time of 23:10. So the question is which website is correct, is there indeed a Rail Replacement Service on the last train of the day, how long is it for (permanent?) and where is the best place to check this sort of info as there is no mention a Rail Replacement that I can see on the National Rail Website.

I did check the same line coming the other way from Wrexham and again according to East Coast Trains there is a Rail Replacement Bus on the last service of the day.

RealTime Trains shows bus replacements for that service each weekday from today (22nd) until this Friday (26th) inclusive. I'd say that probably means that buses will run. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Due to track relaying the last service is replaced by bus until further notice and it will be weeks rather than days.

TDK is correct it will last for weeks, why did you use East Coast Trains website?

Posters are at all ATW stations on the line & Bidston explaining why, I agree Nat Rail have dropped the changes which were live last week

Was using the East Coast Trains website as that's the one I use to pre-book tickets for collection at the station. It actually gives the same info regards late Rail Replacement Bus for the service as the Arriva Trains Wales Website but there doesn't seem to be any information on the Arriva Trains Wales Planned Service Alteration page. Just lots of info about replacement buses in South Wales and Chester to Manchester but nothing for the Wrexham to Bidston line.
