Who has the better First Class: Cross Country or East Coast?

Looking at travel from York to Edinburgh in January, the Cross Country First Class looks to be £10 more than East Coast but price may not be the best indicator of quality.

Also does anyone know the set ups? I presume the East Coast will be a Class 91 with a Mk III rake. Will the Cross Country be a Voyager or a Class 43 and Mk IIIs?

And with stock, MK4 with a 91 or a HST set (both malard refurbished) versus an Unlikely XC HST or a Voyager.

91s haul Mk IV rakes - East Coast's Mk III rakes are all formed into HSTs.

CrossCountry mainly uses Class 220/221 Voyagers, with a couple of HST diagrams.

In any instance I would always choose East Coast.

You'll get free catering in East Coast First Class that is far superior to XC (well in theory anyway )

Look up the train(s) you want, and if you click the cog symbol it will tell you what type of train the service is timed for (no guarantees though)

Class 91s have not operated with Mk3 coaches since the late 1980s/early 1990s as far as I know, so if you get a Class 91 it will be Mk4s.
