Best/worst station toilets

They could have put the portaloos in the car park, like they did at Newton Abbot during refurbishment of the toilets there.

And at Totnes they did that too if memory serves me correct.

With regards to the question in the thread title, I'd have said Cardiff Central's toilets could have been much improved. The toilets on platform 2 (?) are quite dark, dingy, cramped and not the freshest smelling in the world.

Back down in FGWland, Plymouth toilets have always been quiet tired when I've used them, although I believe they're being refurbished (I remember seeing 3 or 4 toilet bowls sectioned off on platform 7 & 8 when I was last there.

great! Been meaning to dig this up, a punt for perth here, you can smell there clenlyness from the footbridge and they dont disapoint.
Im afraid Prestons although new could do with a bit more cleaning.

Not really a best/worst, but I was in the toilets at Dover Priory a few years ago, a disabled-sized gents and I accidentally pulled the emergency chain! A loud alarm started, so I stood outside waiting for someone to come to my aid, but no-one came! It was a good job I wasn't really in trouble.

at least they still work, unlike the new )ish) ones at inverness which were making some rather odd gurgling sounds recently. These generally are ok though.

Back to Preston, or indeed any WCML Station, the facilities are the only thing I would mark VT down on but Im trying at the same time some of the recent refits have been Station Improvement Programme jobbies paid for by NR but managed by the toc and niether the budget or the standards are high.

They're right at the top end of absolutely disgusting.

Not sure if they were managed by the railway, but I remember there were some public toilets right next to Kensal Rise station (I think until the mid 1990s) which looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years with walls and fittings covered in limescame, swarms of flies buzzing about everywhere, used condoms and all the usual remnants of drug taking.
