Given that its generally clear that there is so little of any quality left on the network today, what do people think is the most rateable/interesting (etc) working left out there?

I'm going to put forward Fastline 4O90 Donny/Birch Coppice - Grain Intermodal
* Regular runner, photable in much of the country during the year
* Now loading well, giving a heavy train for thrash value
* 56303 seems to never blow up and is rather loud!
* Revenue earning traffic (non-revenue stuff always only counts half IMO)
* Can be heard thrashing past my bedroom window at home!!
* Rock solid 56
* Mocked as 'fresh air train' and now well loaded most days and often fully.

Notable mentions for DRS Willesden-Crewe glowex (for variety/classic traction), Euston-Inverness Sleeper (for the load), 6S77 (or 6X77) Willesden-Mossend enterprise (for sheer longlivety and varied load.) Would have had S96/M44 but not of interest any more!!

Must be some other decent or 'silly' trains I don't know about or pay attention to....what do you reckon for 'best thing left 2008' then?

RHTTs..:p

Warrington Arpley - Holyhead and return with EWS 37..however, it looks as though it will now go by road, so get it while you can!

I'm going to say the Bridgwater - Crewe flasks. 20x2, 37x2, 20+37, all sorts turn up on it. Made a huge racket the day I saw it storm through Cheltenham Spa with a 20 and a 37. I must remember to go out and photograph it some time.

EDIT: Then there's 1G21 and the associated workings too!

no doubt mine would be the classic Sheffield - London valenta HSTs (I can't say Paddington - Penzance now, as they are all MTUs) and I am happy that DRS keep their good old class 20s and 37s going!
