Best time to call NR HR Department.

I had an interview with network rail a couple of weeks ago. I was told i should receive an E-Mail about 2 weeks after telling me if i have been successful or not. Anyway the 2 weeks has come and gone and i haven't heard anything, my online account still says "Assessment 2 scheduled". When would be a good time to call the HR Department to find out what is happening, is 1 day after the 2 weeks too soon?

They can take there time.

I was told by the line manger 3 days after interview I had got the job. My online account changed quickly however I did not get any email from HR for 4 weeks.

I know from unsuccessful posts, I have waited anything from a week to a month to get a 'Not this time' email

No news is good news as they say... Phoning doesn't hurt but I'm not sure if you will get the information you're after.

It was for an operative role. I applied in January so i know the process is a slow one. The guys who did the interview said they were looking to start people on the 1st of October, that was to give them a month to organize medicals etc.
Should i expect a phone call (if i've been successful) from the Line manager before any E-Mails?

Yeah, mine wanted me to start mid July. beginning of October is now my start date.

Doesn't do any harm to phone - they may be able to chase it up for you or direct your call to some one who is dealing with it.

As people have said, you can't trust an NR timeline, but there is NO harm in calling them. All the time.

I rang HR every day after the timeline I was given was passed. They knew me by name after a week, and they got my results for me. They aren't connected to the line manager at all, so don't worry about any negative feedback. Plus, as long as you're nice, polite (and maybe a bit flirty) they'll love talking to you!
