Has the op considered a Disabled Railcard? They have the benefit of being cheaper than the other Railcards. You'd have to 'gain' a disability though, cut off a limb or something......

A lot of people are eligible for them already but don't realise it. The criteria aren't overly strict!

Not forgetting marrying someone who works for the railways - I often inform people of this option when they comment on their ineligibility for discounts.

In fairness you don't need to marry them...though i did do the decent thing and make that happen. If you live with a partner for a certain period of time you just pop to the solicitor and sign a declaration under oath. Costs may vary.
