Best Priv/underground combination

I can't use priv on the underground and realise it may be cheaper not to use it and buy a super off peak travelcard. I wish to go from Havant to london zones 1-6 with unlimited travel on the tube

With the priv and tube combination presumably buying a priv to Waterloo then a travelcard for the tube is the best option? Can you buy a london only travelcard on the national rail website?

If I use oyster I will presumably be tapping in and out multiple times as I plan on a number of tube journeys which will cost more... Day travel cards can't be used on oyster

Edit appears you can buy london only travel cards if you enter two london stations then select travelcard which presumably offers unlimited travel in the zones

I know at London Victoria etc, that you can just buy a one day travelcard from a ticket machine on the concourse, as have done that many times myself so I do not see why you could not do that at London Waterloo as well when you get off the train.

I am sure someone else will come along and give you some other advice too, which is always good.

Or you could just buy the Travelcard at the same time you buy your Priv ticket. Or do you know of somewhere you can buy Priv tickets that isn't a staffed ticket office or guard?

The cheaper way would be to get a Priv ticket to Surbiton, then a travelcard. However you would then have to be on a train stopping at Surbiton, which may not be worth it for the sake of a pound or so.

Or a Southern Only ticket, but again that would take significantly longer.
