Hi Everyone,
This year we saw nearly every Scarboruah Spa Express, but this was only at stations. Next Year, I'm thinking we might be able to see it running along the mainline and not in stations. So What I was wondering if anyone knoes any good places to see it along the line from Normanton to Castleford? (Along the rute)

Please help,

Jacob :D

Between Normanton and Wakefield Kirkgate there are a few locations to see it. After Normanton Station there are three bridges which give a good view. These are Newland Lane, a road bridge which unfortunately seems to have a fairly high wall (tripod may not be able to see over) but half of the wall is mesh anyway. The next is the road to Welbeck tip, this has a steady flow of bin lorries going past so is more suited to doing photography than taking videos. The third bridge is Goosehill Lane which leads to the former Goose Hill Jn and has a nice low bridge suitable for tripods / videography. At the end of Goosehill Lane you reach a set of gates which makes it appear as if you are trespassing but actually it is a public right of way! Continue through them and you will soon reach the bridge. After that there is Willow Lane Crossing on the East of Kirkthorpe. Parking should be easy at these locations however the Kirkthorpe crossing involves a little walking! :)

Thanks for telling me wbbminerals. I'll look at the locations you have suggested on google earth soon! The Best place I have seen it is probably on top of the bridge at Outwood, it goes quite fast as between Wakefeild Westgate and Wodelsford it does not stop!

Thanks for the help,

Jacob :)
