Best Place to get shots of..

Hi all where is the best place to get photos of Class 59`s?

they never seem to go anywhere in the Midlands so I was just wondering where is a good place to go get photos of them?

Anywhere on the Berks and Hants line! Crofton is a top quality location, and it's about 15-20 minutes walk from Bedwyn station down the canal. The classic shot is the afternoon shot of westbound trains with the locks in - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p58158810.html

Off the bridge about 200 yards past the pump house, you've got this shot of London-bound trains http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p58158811.html

Failing that, Fairwood junction near Westbury - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p56693341.html (London bound trains)

One of my favourites is Great Cheverell (car required!) - London-bound trains (yes, this is an HST but you can get 59s in the morning!) - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p56693346.html

37401 - Shrivenham is on the outskirts of Swindon, it's an afternoon shot and there is a bus to the village. Now the question is, what day does that train run cos I've not ever seen a 59 there!

If you are down in London i've seen some a 59 at Stratford a few times but there are usually some in Acton yard on the GWML just out of Paddington.
