dont know about 50's really, its a case of beauty in their uglyness really. as for sheer noise then yeah a vac is good

50015 "valliant" in Dutch livery looked alright, but best looking locomotives i'd say are 37s, 40s, 47s, and 52s.

The co-bo loco wasnt that bad looking, so add that to your list
