I don't think any multiple units with end gangways look good.

While I like Deltics, I don't think they look good: the class 47 is much more stylish, especially in original two-tone green.

Indeed! Also once more, I'm completely stumped regarding the "vast" differences between a 47 and a 56!!!

I like the 56's because some of the early ones look like a Southern 455/8 at the front.

Technically yes it could, it's a DEMU as they are originally classes 253 and 254 (for two power cars and a rake of Mk3s) and the Mk3 coaches are not standard.

However it has been debated many times and those who say it's two locos between a rake of coaches and those who swear blind it's a DMU will never agree. It is one of those that could be either.

Best loco: 68/88s definitely are quite the lookers.
Worst loco: Maybe a 56
Best DMU I can agree with a class 180, but I do like the Turbostar facelift that you get on 172/0s and 172/1s as well as the 168/2s.
Worst DMU Probably a 168/0.
Best EMU Any Desiro - 350, 360, 444, 450 and 700
Worst EMU The 332 isn't that pretty outside (inside it's a different story!) and 455/8s and 458/5s.
